Jang Gives Subsidised Cars To 300 Youth In Plateau State

The Plateau state government has given 300 hyundai caravans’ vehicles to the youth of the state, in a bid to strengthen the Poverty Alleviation And Youth Empowerment Scheme.

The Chairman of the committee and commissioner for works, Chris Hassan said that the state government in collaboration with a banking institution was giving the vehicles to the beneficiaries at a subsidised rate.

The 300 youths who are beneficiaries have also agreed to modalities for payments on hire purchase basis.

The presentation of the vehicles to beneficiaries by plateau state government is the fourth stage of the youth empowerment programme tagged, ‘tackling poverty together’, as youths across the state were presented the car keys after going through the screening and other documentations.

Mr Hassan also said that the gesture was to help improve and provide adequate transportation system for citizens in the state following the ban on commercial motorcycle from operating within the metropolis.

He encouraged the beneficiaries to be diligent and adhere to the conditions of payment while the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Samuel Kwamkur urged them not to default in any way in order to pave way for others in the future.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance but called for caution in the mode of payment as the amount might be unrealistic.
